Objectives of Great Indian Vagneyakara (GIV) Series are:

  • remember and celebrate evenings dedicated to a number of music composers [ both North Indian and South Indian],
  • encourage young and up-coming local artists to participate in GIVSeries functions as much as possible,
  • learn lessons from senior and experienced artists,
  • avenue to propagate our rich South and North cultural heritage just to name a few.

To this end, we have so far celebrated evenings dedicated to Sri Muthuswamy Deekshitar, Sri Taalaapaaka Annamacharyulu and Sri Paapanasam Sivan.

Co-ordinators are happy to report to you that we have already received feedback asking that we arrange similar events dedicated to composers such as Sri Tiruchi Shankaran, Smt Ambujam Krishnan, Shri Patnam Subramanya Iyer, Sri Bhadrachala Ramadasu, Mysore Vasudevacharya, Mysore Maharaaj so on and so forth.

We have identified evenings dedicated for different composers for the next 13 years. That will take us up to the year 2017.

All this has been made possible purely by active participation of artists in our community. We hope every event will be well received. We hope that all attendees to the functions will pardon the co-ordinators for any mistakes.
